Company History
A & C Trades and Services began in 1977 as A & C Plumbing. At the time of it’s inception Steve Anderson, the owner, was a University of Tennessee college student who had worked part-time throughout his education years for his uncle’s plumbing business. Plumbing was the type of work he enjoyed, working with his hands and figuring out mechanical solutions to everyday problems. It seemed only natural to continue to make a living for his family by using the skills he had learned, enjoyed, and depended upon. Lynda, Steve’s wife, took on the duties of office manager, which she still holds to this day.
In the early 1980’s during the Solar Water Heating Incentive Program, Steve became certified by several companies and added Solar Water Heating installation to the companies trades.
As A & C continued to grow and become more energy conscious Geothermal Heating & Cooling was added as an additional trade. A & C’s first Geothermal system was installed in 1993 at their own family home and farm.
Nathan Anderson, the son of Lynda and Steve Anderson, worked with the business part time during his youth. He graduated from Maryville College with degrees in Environmental Studies and Political Science and later returned to the family business. He is currently Marketing Manager & Estimator. Nathan has been able to lead the company in the modern era toward vigorous growth in the geothermal field.
Although A & C Trades added Radiant Heat Flooring in the 2000’s as another specialty trade, A & C’s continues to be a family owned and operated business.
